Vigan is a historic city in the Philippines known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. Before Spanish rule, it was already a thriving trading center with Chinese merchants. In 1572, Spanish conquistador Juan de Salcedo established it as the capital of the Ilocos region. Today, Vigan is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains a major cultural and tourist destination.

The Bulacan Water District successfully conducted a Lakbay Aral in the heritage city of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, as part of our continuing commitment to learning and cultural appreciation.

This educational trip served as a valuable opportunity for employees to explore best practices, gain new insights, and strengthen camaraderie — all while immersing in the rich culture, architecture, and traditions of one of the Philippines’ most treasured historic cities.

Vigan’s timeless charm and well-preserved heritage offered both inspiration and learning, making this Lakbay Aral a truly meaningful experience for all participants.
